Hey everyone!
As we dive into the latest mini dev update, we're excited to share significant changes that will enhance your app user experience in Rematch. In this post, we'll cover core gameplay updates, ranked system improvements, and a peek into our patch creation process.
CORE GAMEPLAY CHANGES
To improve volley gameplay, we've updated the logic to prioritize the player closest to the ball in conflicted situations. Additionally, we've reduced the maximum volley height from 3m to 2.85m. These changes will make dives a more efficient defensive tool and lay the groundwork for future outfield dive enhancements.
RANKED SYSTEM UPDATE
To ensure a more accurate reflection of your skill level, we're introducing two significant changes:
- League demotions: You'll now be able to demote when losing 2 games in a row after reaching 0 RP in your current league.
- Dynamic Ranking: Your RP gains and losses will be dynamic, with adjustments made based on your MMR. This means you'll win more RPs when winning games and lose fewer points when losing.
These updates aim to better match player ranks to their actual skill level, making for fairer games.
PATCH CREATION PROCESS
In the past, our patches have introduced unforeseen issues due to trying to fix too many issues at once. To improve patch quality, we've updated our process to allow for more testing time. This includes locking patches 4 weeks before release, allowing for automated testing, QA team testing, and final tests on the beta branch.
CURRENT PRIORITIES
As we move forward, our top priorities include:
- Improving online gameplay issues to ensure a smooth experience
- Enhancing core gameplay mechanics, such as tackles, volleys, and goalkeeping
- Introducing new game modes, like "Fireball" in November and 1v1 in December, to provide variety and fresh ways of experiencing Rematch
We're committed to refining our patch creation process and continuously improving the app user experience. Your feedback is crucial in helping us identify issues and make data-driven decisions.
That's all for now! Feel free to comment and ask any questions. Thanks for being part of the Rematch community!
