Apple has announced the winners of the 2026 App Store Awards, recognizing 17 outstanding apps and games that have made a lasting impact on users. The winners were chosen from a pool of 45 finalists, with App Store editors selecting the top apps and games based on their technical ingenuity, cultural impact, and ability to drive meaningful change. Among the winning apps are Tiimo, which offers users a powerful visual planner with AI-driven next steps; Detail, which democratizes video production on iPad with AI editing tools; and Essayist, which tackles formatting academic papers on Mac with AI-powered tools. Explore POV on Apple Vision Pro takes users on breathtaking journeys to stunning locations around the world.
In the gaming category, Pokémon TCG Pocket delivers an immersive experience with thrilling battles and a user-friendly interface. DREDGE offers a charming fishing game with a haunting mystery on iPad, while Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition stuns with its futuristic sci-fi metropolis. WHAT THE CLASH? brings nonstop laughter with silly competitions.
The winning apps and games were selected in several categories, including iPhone App of the Year (Tiimo), iPad App of the Year (Detail), Mac App of the Year (Essayist), Apple Vision Pro App of the Year (Explore POV), Apple Watch App of the Year (Strava), and Apple TV App of the Year (HBO Max). In the gaming categories, winners included DREDGE (iPad Game of the Year), Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition (Mac Game of the Year), Porta Nubi (Apple Vision Pro Game of the Year), and WHAT THE CLASH? (Apple Arcade Game of the Year).
In addition to recognizing these outstanding apps and games, App Store editors selected six Cultural Impact winners for their positive impact on society. These apps and games were recognized for their ability to drive meaningful change, providing users with helpful tools, promoting understanding, and shaping a more inclusive world.
The Cultural Impact winners include Art of Fauna, which turns wildlife illustration into relaxing puzzles; Chants of Sennaar, which celebrates the power of language through a thought-provoking adventure; despelote, which crafts an intimate slice-of-life story; Be My Eyes, which combines AI and volunteers to help people with everyday activities; Focus Friend by Hank Green, which gamifies focus sessions; and StoryGraph, which creates an inclusive space for book lovers.
